The nervous system (brain, spinal cord, and nerves) controls and coordinates the functions of the entire body. Chiropractic care specializes in checking the spine for subluxations (misalignments of the spine) which interfere with the flow of information from the brain to the body. Correction of these subluxations is essential for your child's nervous system function and development properly.

The first spinal stress to your child's spine is the birth process. The birthing process, especially traumatic birth, caesarean, forceps, and vacuum delivery, can put considerable stress on your baby’s spinal cord and cranium. Problems such as colic, breathing difficulties, chronic colds and infections, asthma, ear infections, and nursing difficulties can be traced back to nervous system stress.

As your child grows older, simple acts of crawling, walking, running, jumping, tumbling, and falling can cause spinal misalignments as well. Children are active and energetic while learning to ride a bike, play sports, and just be a kid. Since their bodies are extremely flexible and resilient, they often will show nothing more than a bruise or scrape after life's minor accidents. But that's on the outside. On the inside, the body has been jarred with considerable force.
